The International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking

“Drug addiction has become a global menace today. In our country too, the number of people falling prey to this addiction has significantly increased over the past few years which is alarming. Students need to be aware of the negative consequences of such addictions alongside their academic responsibilities. Stay away from them and report such criminal activities to the police through elders thereby developing social responsibility”, said Mr. Umesh Kumar M N, Sub-Inspector, Kadri Police Station, Mangaluru and resource person at the Drug-free Day program organized by the NSS unit of Dr. NSAM Pre-University College, Mangaluru on 26th June 2024.

Presiding over the event, Dr. Naveen Shetty K, Principal said, "Initially the students indulge in drugs out of curiosity. Later if they become addicts, they are likely to lose their education and life. Therefore, every student should responsibly stay away from such addictions and develop good character thus contributing to the creation of a healthy society."

Ms. Annapurna Nayak, Vice-Principal; Mr. Santosh Shetty, NSS Program Officer and Dr. Sukanya, Assistant Program Officer were present on the occasion.
